A man armed with a dagger and a hammer injured three people on Saturday at Lyon station in Paris. Police quickly arrested the attacker after the attack that occurred around 8:00 a.m., according to authorities.
The man had residence documents in Italy, which allowed him to travel freely within the European Union. Paris has beefed up its security as it prepares to welcome 10,500 athletes and millions of visitors for the first Olympics in the French capital in a century. The Olympic Games will begin with a massive outdoor ceremony along the Seine River on July 26.
