Jorge Glas, detained in a maximum security prison, would have ingested high doses of medications. Glas would have been transferred to a hospital in the coastal city of Guayaquil.
This was reported by sources close to the party of former president Rafael Correa. At the moment, no Ecuadorian authority has confirmed or denied the information, despite multiple requests from the press for an official version of the alleged suicide attempt. The former vice president was arrested in a violent police raid at the Mexican Embassy in Quito.
