Off-duty firefighters in Marion, Ohio, found a time capsule dating back to 1905. City officials and firefighters opened the welded box in a public presentation.

The capsule contained a letter from the city's first full-time fire chief, T. J. McFarland. All items will remain in the custody of the Marion County Historical Society until they can be displayed in the new Fire Department building, which is currently under construction. The cornerstone of the building was removed to make way for the new building.
