The Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal sentenced Alessio Scalamanadrè to 21 years of imprisonment and his brother Simone to 14 years. The two brothers are accused of having killed their father Pasquale, who was under investigation for mistreatment of his mother, hitting him several times with a rolling pin at the height of an argument in their home in Genoa.

Last November, the Court of Cassation annulled with postponement the second degree sentence issued by the Corte 'Genoese appeal hearing, with which Alessio was sentenced to 21 years. Finally, the prosecutor's appeal against Simone's acquittal was also accepted, with the Milanese judges invited to adequately justify any new acquittal sentence. The sentence was confirmed by the Assize of Genoa in February 2022, confirming the first degree sentence of 21 years in prison. The brothers will serve their sentences in a Milan prison until the end of the year, with a maximum sentence of 25 years in the case of Simone.
