Two members of an international human trafficking network were arrested thanks to a joint investigation between the National Gendarmerie and the Brazilian Federal Police. Nine Argentine citizens who were captive in the neighboring country were assisted and later repatriated.
One of those arrested is a Brazilian man, who owns the property where the victims were held captive. A woman was arrested after a raid in the capital of Misiones, Posadas. She was responsible for recruiting men and women and then transferring them to Brazil under the promise of a well-paid job.
