Third warmest and one of the wettest winters since 1881. February even broke a record.

Instead of cold winter weather, “nature was preparing for spring,” as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Wednesday. This makes it the 13th mild winter in a row and the third warmest in the history of the country. The average temperature was 4.1 degrees, 3.9 degrees above the value of the internationally valid reference period 1961 to 1990.
