Jesse E. Kipf, 39, admitted to creating a false death certificate for himself using credentials stolen from a doctor, according to a plea agreement.

He faces a maximum of seven years in prison and up to $500,000 in fines. His crimes caused estimated damages of more than $195,000, including $79,000 to government and corporate networks. He has agreed to compensate all parties he harmed, including his ex-wife, court documents say. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for the afternoon of April 12.
