Federation of swimming pool and spa professionals has created a simulator. The tool takes into account around twenty parameters: size of the pool, geographical location, equipment, number of bathers, etc.
In 2023, the 3.5 million family swimming pools in France would only represent 0.06% of national water consumption. Without a cover, this pool would consume more than 36m3 of water. By covering it 12 hours a day, consumption drops to 8m3. Better still, it drops to 1.7 m3 if the pool is only open 4 hours a week.
