Experts had warned of avalanches because of the fresh snow over Easter and strong winds. Any help came too late for three people. A fourth person was found alive, the police in the canton of Valais reported late in the evening. It is unclear whether there are other people under the masses of snow. The search has been stopped for the time being. The police want to reassess the situation on Tuesday morning.
