Mauritian Neonatology in 2023 saw 1,113 newborns born. Every year in the Mauritian Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolic Diseases department, approximately 1,000 biopsies and over 400 surgical operations are performed, around a hundred of which concern thyroid tumors.
