The Germeringer local group of the German Alpine Club looks back on its 50th anniversary. For 50 years it has been the first point of contact for all mountain enthusiasts around the large district town.

The tours are designed more for the general public than before. The group also offers modern sources of information, although this has a dark side. The local group was more affected by the Corona years. There have already been discussions on whether we should dissolve as a local group, admits Peter Hafner, chairman of the DAV Germering local group. But Hafner: “The group is doing well. People feel the need to go outside again. People need to do small steps in the long term in small steps. Thank God that has been overcome.” You can find more news in our Merkurde app, now in an improved design with more personalization functions. Directly find more information can be found here.
