The Austrian motorists' club ÖAMTC explains how much tip is appropriate when traveling to popular holiday destinations. In Italy one usually gives "five to ten percent of the restaurant amount" as a tip.

In France, too, you typically leave a tip at the table in a restaurant – "but here it is around 15 percent" In Norway and Sweden they give "around ten percent, in Sweden it is rounded up" Finnish and Danish waiters, on the other hand, expect "no extra attention"
