President Sergio Mattarella and the former president of Slovenia Borut Pahor will return to Trieste tomorrow, to the University, to receive an honorary degree in law. It was July 13, 2020, the same day that the Narodni dom was returned to the Slovenian community.

The appointment is the main one in the celebrations for the centenary of the Trieste university. The ceremony, in the main hall, will begin with the institutional greeting by Di Lenarda and will continue with the reading of the reasons for the awarding of degrees by Professor Gian Paolo Dolso. The mayor of Trieste Roberto Dipiazza, the prefect Pietro Signoriello and the president of the Fvg Region Massimiliano Fedriga will be there to welcome them. The academic world will also be represented by the rector of the University of Udine Roberto Pinton and the director of Sissa Andrea Romanino. Mattarella will stay in the city for a short time: after the ceremony at the university he will move to the Prefecture for ashort lunch from where, around 3pm, he will leave again.
