Tornadoes and torrential rains leave at least 2 dead and a trail of destruction in several states. Some 27 million people from Maine to Florida are at risk of severe storms with torrential rain, flooding and powerful winds.
As of Wednesday morning, severe storms have been moving through parts of the Southeast and Florida Panhandle. Forecasters have predicted flash flooding across a wide area of the Ohio River Valley in the northeast, with Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York under flood watches.
