Around 60 Extinction Rebellion (ER) activists were late Saturday morning inside the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges, disguised as clowns. They sprayed colorful paint and unfurled a large banner denouncing the “crimes” of the tanker, before dispersing.

“Total has been knowingly polluting and putting us all in danger for 100 years. We are here to make the climate emergency heard, on the site of a criminal enterprise,” said one activist.
