A bus driver died and one of the truck drivers was injured. The section of the motorway was closed until 2 p.m. and there were temporarily eight kilometers of traffic jams. There was already an explosion in 2018 after a heavy vehicle caught fire while traveling through the Castello Tunnel south, not far from the Grottammare toll booth.
