Two men were sentenced to two months in prison for deserting their jobs. One of the men said he was subjected to "gratuitous violence" by his superiors.

The other man said he had been forced to drink oil. The case was adjourned until September. The judge said he would consider a third man's request for a suspended sentence. The third man was released on bail until September 25. The second man was ordered to pay a fine of $2,000. He was also ordered to repay $1,000 to his employer.
