Connolly reported via Twitter that a man entered his office Monday morning asking for him before attacking his team. "The individual is in police custody," he added.
Both members of his team were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said. "I have the best team in Congress. The idea that someone took advantage of my team's availability to commit an act of violence is devastating," he said in a statement. "We are incredibly grateful to the City of Fairfax Police Department and first responders for their quick response"
