Ukrainian soldiers are said to have broken through some defensive lines, gaining ground around the destroyed city of Bakhmut. This is confirmed by the head of the mercenary group "Wagner", Yevgeny Prigozhin, on his Telegram channel.
"I think that the events that are now taking place on the front line are the beginning of a counteroffensive by Ukraine", he said. He is therefore demanding 200,000 troops from Moscow to stop the long-announced Ukrainian counteroffensive.
