Brussels has proposed granting a partial exemption from fallow obligations in the Union and limiting Ukrainian agricultural imports. The issue had agitated the French government against the backdrop of the agricultural crisis.

The European Commission “responded to France’s requests”, announces the Élysée. The proposal is to limit any uncontrollable increase in Ukrainian Agricultural imports, offering guarantees to farmers protesting across Europe. The French government says it is ‘pleased’ with the proposal. The EU Commission is expected to make a decision by the end of the month.
