The Lille ultra-right association La Citadelle was banned from organizing an evening entitled “Let them return to Africa” in February 2023. The bar opened in 2016 presenting itself as a ‘patriot bar’ and a “house of identity’ The association justifies by “its publications, the words of its members and its slogans, the implementation of a xenophobic ideology and provoking hatred and discrimination,” according to the dissolution decree.
The Minister of Interior Gérald Darmanin announced the dissolution of the association on his account.
