U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders wants to establish a 32-hour week.

The bill also proposes reducing the maximum number of hours needed to earn overtime. In addition, overtime would be paid at a rate increased by 50% for workdays exceeding eight hours, and the salary of employees working more than 12 hours per day should be doubled. The Democratic senator insists that this proposal is not radical, pointing out that “American workers are 400% more productive than in the 1940s,” despite the 40-hour work week.
