135 athletes from Mindelheim/Unterallgäu were awarded medals for their achievements in 2023. Thomas Burger, a former extreme mountaineer, spoke about his life on the Eiger.
He and a friend stayed on the wall in a snowstorm for a total of nine days and suffered severe frostbite. Eder and Adelwarth cut a fine figure as moderators and honored Albert Stiegeler from SV Egg an der Günz and Manfred Schuster from SC Eppishausen (ill) on the theater stage for their outstanding voluntary commitment to club and sport in the district. They emphasized the importance of clubs and sport for society and cohesion makes the entire district strong. The event was organized by the BLSV district chairman Benjamin Adelwarth and the district administrator Alex Eder, who also served as moderator for the forum and city theater events. The medal ceremony took place at the Mindelheimer Forum on Thursday, and 27 teams also received a certificate.
