The Chinese car manufacturer Dongfeng is one of the Government's interlocutors to establish a production plant in Italy. This was confirmed by the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso on the sidelines of the Confcommercio Forum.

Urso responded to a question about the Chinese company after the rumors published yesterday by Bloomberg. "Yes, there is an exchange with various car manufacturers, not just Asian ones," Urso said in response to questions about the company's presence in the country. The Chinese company is currently working on a new version of its flagship car, the Dongfang Jiajia, which is due to go on sale later this year. The car is expected to be the first of a series of new models to be launched by the Chinese manufacturer in Italy in the coming years. The company is also working on new versions of its trucks and buses, as well as a new range of electric vehicles, which will be launched in the next few years.
