U.S. officials say Beijing is transferring critical drone, missile and satellite components to Moscow as it undergoes its biggest military buildup since the Soviet era.

They say the aid is critical to the recovery of the Russian military while Ukraine waits for more U.S.-led aid. The Chinese embassy in Washington claimed that Beijing does not supply weapons to any side in the war and that it was not responsible for it or involved in it. The two superpowers have strengthened their relations in recent years, and their leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping have declared that their alliance "has no limits". This week the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, met with the Chinese leader in Beijing ahead of the soon expected meeting between him and Putin. The United States and its allies have recently sharpened their tone in dealing with Chinese aggression in the South China Sea and against Taiwan. The U.N. Security Council has passed a resolution condemning the use of force by Russia against Ukraine, calling for a cease-fire.
