US company wants to be the first to mine raw materials on the moon. Helium-3 is scarce on Earth but is abundant on the Moon.

Interlune plans to conduct an exploratory mission as early as early 2026, flying a commercial rocket and harvester to an area of the moon where there is large amounts of ice. China has also expressed interest in extracting other resources, including helium-3, which it said was contained in a sample it brought back in a rocket.
