A crime index provides information about crime in various cities across Europe. The latest crime index for 2024 has now been published.

The southern French port city of Marseille is ranked first among the most dangerous cities in Europe. In addition to Marseille, respondents also rated the crime rate in Coventry (Crime Index: 65.0) and Birmingham (63.6) as high, both of which are in the United Kingdom. The “most dangerous” German city in the ranking is Frankfurt in 41st place. However, compared to other countries around the world, people in European cities feel significantly safer. The Venezuelan capital Caracas is considered most dangerous city with a score of 82. This is followed by South African cities of Pretoria (81) and Durban (81). Marseilles is the first European city to appear in the global ranking at number 40. The risk map from AM3 shows which countries are most dangerous for travelers. When it comes to the Crime Index, it shows which early warning system is most effective.
