The town of Taverny has become the first community in Val-d'Oise to obtain the firefighter partner employer label. Reconciling professional life and the civic commitment of a volunteer firefighter can be a headache.

“I knew colleagues who quit after one or two years, because they could not combine their commitment to the firefighters and their work,” breathes the chief sergeant of the municipal police officer in Taverny. A volunteer firefighter since 2008, Yann Drouin has seen several colleagues give up.
