Rafael Díaz and Reid Alexander met on Tinder in August 2020. Reid suffered from Alport Syndrome and needed a kidney transplant.

Rafael donated his kidney to Reid on August 13, 2021. Reid and Rafael got engaged in the middle of the compatibility testing period. Since then, the second's quality of life has improved significantly. The couple tried to raise awareness about organ donation to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation and the American Kidney Research Foundation.
