Venezuela prevents Rocío San Miguel from contacting her lawyers or receiving consular assistance after a month in jail. The activist remains imprisoned in Helicoide, an intelligence service prison, accused of being part of an alleged conspiracy to assassinate Maduro and provoke a coup d'état.

San Miguel is the director of Citizen Control, an NGO that prosecutor Willan Saab calls a cover to discredit the Venezuelan armed forces. Her case has been directly linked to the presidential elections that will be held this year, on July 28.
