The Italian airline ITA announced today that it will return to operations in Israel as of March 3. It will operate three flights a week on the Rome-Tel Aviv route on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Demand for flights has been rising in recent weeks, with traffic at Ben Gurion Airport increasing significantly, with almost 27,000 passengers passing through on peak days. The company will join about 25 airlines that are expected to operate in Israel on those days, including Air France, Wizz Air, Rainier and Lufthansa.
