In China lightning space attacks are being considered as a defense or to provoke an early capitulation of the enemy. In the US there is concern about a Russian anti-satellite weapon.
There is talk of some type of device, perhaps nuclear, that could blow up strategic satellites for US defense. For now, it is not known what type of space weapons exist or what their effect would be, but the military takes the role of space in warfare very seriously. In addition to land, sea and air, war is already being played in space.
