Some 3,500 Palestinian political prisoners are under administrative detention, a figure that allows them to remain in prison without accusation or trial. “It is very difficult to find someone in occupied Palestine who does not have someone in their family detained,” says EL PAÍS special envoy to the West Bank Bárbara Ayuso.
