Legislation would make it easier to sue teachers who are victims of bullying. The bill is part of a wider effort to tackle the problem of bullying in schools.

It would also make it possible for teachers to sue for damages if they are victim of bullying or abuse. The legislation is expected to be voted on by the end of the year, with the aim of making it law by the summer of 2019. The proposal is the result of a joint effort by the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council.
