Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama praised the partnership with France on Friday. Emmanuel Macron praised a “singular relationship” between the two countries.

“If you ever need someone to be with you in a time of extraordinary difficulty, call an Albanian! He will be here,” said Rama. The two countries also signed an intergovernmental agreement including the granting of a loan of 120 million euros from the French Development Agency (AFD) to help Tirana in terms of energy efficiency. The French President welcomed “a profound revolution, a resolute opening” of this former country of the communist bloc and “all the reforms, texts taken and the capacity to move forward under your command”   “I am admiring of the path that your country is making, of the very deep European feeling and I would say perhaps, but the French are thus, even more than European, pro-French,’ he underlined.
