A photo appeared on Facebook showing a cat strapped to the back of a visitor to the Passau Dult. The Facebook page "Missing/Lost Animals City & District of Passau" published a photo of the cat.
Animal shelter manager Bettina Mittler was appalled by the incident. Previously, a dog had collapsed at the festival in the Kohlbruck Exhibition Park in Passau, Germany, after being brought along by a dog owner in a backpack. The festival page said that bringing animals onto the Dult is prohibited, but dogs are exempt.
