Russian forces carried out at least 10 strikes against “essential infrastructure” in the Kharkiv region, in northeastern Ukraine. No casualties have been reported at the moment, according to the local governor.
In the Zaporizhia region (south), Governor Ivan Fedorov reported “explosions” Thursday morning. For several weeks, Russia has been bombing Ukraine's energy infrastructure, leading to large-scale power cuts in the country's north and east. The Ukrainian Air Force had earlier indicated that around nine Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers were in the air and were suspected of preparing to launch missiles towards Ukraine. The entire Ukrainian territory was on air alert at 6:00 a.m. local time (03:00 GMT) Wednesday. Seven people were killed in the regions of Kharksiv and Odessa (south) during nighttime attacks against two energy sites which caused power outages in these two territories.
