A new document called “Gestis verbisque” indicates that the sacraments and their formulas do not admit changes. The document states that the forms and elements of the sacrament “ cannot be changed in the name of creativity.” The document concludes by recalling that the faithful have the right to feel like the Church provides the right for them to celebrate the sacrament of the Eucharist.
The Pope says that any changes to the Sacraments would be “incompatible” with their purpose.
