The Salzlandkreis wants to boost water tourism. Seven new footbridges along the Saale should help with this.
Only in Könnern is the footbridge made of solid concrete due to local conditions. After clearing work, a construction time of three months is estimated for each location. In total, the tourism construction project costs 2.5 million euros - the state is said to be covering 90 percent of the costs. The jetties will make it easier to get in and out of boats in the future.
