[HIGHLIGHTS] Weather: a new heat record during the first half of February in France

Thermometers showed 3.6 degrees higher than the average over the period, for a total of 9.7°C. This Thursday, February 15 even became “the hottest day of winter 2024 on a national scale’.

Temperatures worthy of the beginning of spring even climbed up to 27° C in the afternoon, in the South-West. The first fortnight of February (from Thursday February 1 to Thursday February 15) became the heat record for ‘the mildest first fortnight’ since records began in 1930.
