Perpignan is home to a large gypsy community. The Primavera gitana festival pays tribute to him at the beginning of April.
The Musical House is located within the grounds of the Campo Santo, a 14th century cloister housing the largest surviving medieval cemetery in France. The Palace of the Kings of Majorca dominates the city and offers a magnificent panoramic view with the sea on one side and - if the weather permits - a breathtaking view of Mount Canigou.
