The Verdi union has called for warning strikes at around a dozen airports in Germany today. The airport association ADV expects around 1,100 flight cancellations or delays.
Some airports have already announced that there will be no departures there on Thursday. Lufthansa called on its own passengers via its app on Wednesday not to come to Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden and Erfurt airports. Verdi is demanding a flat-rate increase in hourly wages over a twelve-month period.
