Litter is a major household waste that is not always easy to get rid of. Mineral litter is neither recyclable nor biodegradable.

To avoid bad odors and the possible dispersion of germs, throw the litter into a dedicated, tightly closed trash bag. Plant litter degrades very well in compost. It must reach a temperature of at least 62°C to effectively eradicate toxoplasma gondii. If you are in town and want to put it in a green waste recovery point, check with your town hall.
