Sergio Agüero announced his retirement from football on December 15, 2021. The former Argentina forward suffered a cardiac arrhythmia during a match in October.
He has been involved in a number of projects since his retirement. He is currently co-owner of the Argentinian football club Independiente. He also has a 4.8 million followers on Twitch and 11.9 million on TikTok. He was awarded a statuette at the Martín Fierro Latino Awards last November.
