When children need to be protected from their own parents. Ebersberg district youth welfare office had to intervene 32 times last year and take children and young people into care.
That is 23 cases more than five years previously. There are currently ten on-call foster families in the district who have agreed to take in children at short notice, even at night, on public holidays or at weekends, and to look after them for as long as necessary. More foster families are being sought, but they are not easy to find.
