In the ranking of the main Italian wineries by turnover there are 40 cooperatives (out of a total of 117), which have a turnover of 3.7 billion euros. In detail, the cooperatives hold 34% of the turnover generated by exports, a share which rises to 52% if we consider the turnover on the domestic market of the Top100 wineries.

The incidence of cooperatives at the top of the ranking has remained constant over the last five years, says the president of Confcooperative Fedagripesca Carlo Piccinini. The data on the hectares of vineyards worked by the thousands of members operating on the national territory stands out: these are 152,280 hectares which represent more than 25% of. the total Italian vineyard. Overall, the cooperative wineries present in the ranking bring 1 billion and 186 million bottles to the market, a figure which has recorded a constant growth trend in the last 5 years equal to atotal of +20.8%.
