Ukraine has apparently destroyed a Russian jammer - Putin's troops are trying to control communications; so far probably unsuccessful. The Leer-3 is a drone-based EW (Electronic Warfare = Eloka) system that uses Russia's Orlan-10 unmanned drone to disable cellular networks.

The system can suppress around 2,000 mobile phone subscribers at the same time and can also send SMS messages and thus spread false news. The individual smartphone may play a decisive role in the current dress rehearsal for the war of the future, as Bundeswehr Major Paul Strobel currently writes for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. However, he admits: “Ultimately, an astonishingly precise 'public picture of the situation' is created, which is constantly updated by eager social media users. Troop movements, units and actions, even ambushes - hardly anything can apparently be kept secret anymore anymore." Ukraine has taken control of the war online: it obviously gave its soldiers a free hand in the use of smartphones.
