La Plagne, Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry is the third largest French ski area. It was created with the creation of a single ski lift.
The Vanoise Express was inaugurated on December 20, 2003. The cable car, each two-story cabin of which can accommodate 200 people, is the largest in the world. It takes just four minutes to go from one peak to another in La Plagne. The area has doubled its surface area in 20 years.
