The wife of Prince William, heir to the British throne, entered the private London hospital The London Clinic on January 16 to undergo a planned abdominal procedure. It is expected that she will now have to undergo several months recovering, away from her official activities. The Prince of Wales has not assumed official duties while his wife has remained hospitalized and will not do so during his convalescence.
