Wolf killed on the motorway: Genetic samples reveal origin - most recently sighted near Munich. According to initial estimates, the animal is a male cub that was born in 2023.
Back in 2016, a wolf died in a traffic accident on the A93 between Nabburg and Schwarzenfeld in the Schwandorf region. A wolf was also photographed three times in the region. The genetic analysis revealed that it was a previously unknown animal from an Alpine population whose parent pack could not be identified.
